Dana Byrd
Vice President - External

Dana was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where she grew up riding horses and hunting. She then moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science along with minors in Agribusiness, Wine and Viticulture and Equine Science. During summers at Cal Poly, Dana was fortunate to intern at a racing quarter horse breeding farm in New Mexico, a guest ranch in Wyoming, the Calgary Stampede in Canada, and study abroad in central Italy. Following graduation, she traveled through South America and taught English in a public high school in northern Chile. After returning to the states and the Central Coast, Dana worked in produce sales and sales / marketing for the wine and beer industry before returning to Cal Poly to attain an MBA. She enjoys being involved in her community and is currently the Chair of Young Farmers and Ranchers, the Vice President of External Affairs for California Women for Agriculture and on the Executive Board for the SLO County Farm Bureau. Dana still has the travel bug and can't wait for her next adventure!
